Blacksburg traveled to #1 Seed Woodgrove HS and returned home with a 1-0 advancing to the 4A State SemiFinal. The match remained scoreless until the 47th minute when Blake Carroll served a free kick into the box skipping off a Woodgrove defender and into the back of the net.
Blacksburg would continue to work to earn a shutout and preserve the 1-0 lead. Blacksburg recorded 3 shots to 7 by Woodgrove. Kinsey Verbrugge recorded 4 saves to 1 by the Woodgrove GK. Woodgrove recorded 6 corner kicks to 1 for Blacksburg.
Blacksburg will return to action on Friday at 2pm where they will face Loudoun County for an opportunity to reach the championship.
