The United Soccer Coaches association annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full school year.
The BHS Girls Soccer team has once again earned the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) prestigious Team Academic Award. The 2017 Girls Team recorded a 3.99 GPA across all players. A total of 337 soccer teams (119 boys, 218 girls) from throughout the United States have earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2016-17 academic year.
The High School Team Academic Award is bestowed upon teams led by active United Soccer Coaches members with a composite grade point average of 3.25 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
Congratulations to the Boys Soccer team who also received this award. Among all the programs receiving this award across the nation there are only 48 schools receiving honors for both their boys and girls teams. Blacksburg High School is represented by both of their soccer programs.
