United StatesHigh School: Riley has been a part of the Blacksburg Soccer Program since she was in 8th grade. This is her 4th year within the Program. In addition to soccer, Riley was a member of the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team her 9th and 10th grade years. As an 11th grader, she was a member of both the Blacksburg Cross Country team and the Blacksburg Indoor Track team.
Riley is currently serving as the Co-Historian of the Blacksburg National Honor Society chapter. She is also a member of both Mu Alpha Theta (math honors society) and the Spanish National Honor Society. In addition, Riley is also the Co-Manager of Promotion and Sales for the BHS School Store (The Bear Necessities) as well as a member of Blacksburgs’ SkillsUSA chapter. As a member of SkillsUSA, Riley placed 3rd in the region for Advertising Design, 2nd in the region for Promotional Flyer and 3rd in the state for T-Shirt Design.
Personal: Born December 8, 2002. Born and raised in Blacksburg, Virginia. Daughter of Marc and Kristie Verniel. Has one older brother, Jake (21).
Club: Currently plays for New River United 01/02G.
